On Monday afternoon, June 3rd, 2024, a powerful tornado tore through the coastal town of Tongaat in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The destructive storm left a trail of devastation, severely damaging hundreds of homes and public infrastructure, including schools and healthcare facilities.
Tragically, at least five lives were lost, and over 1,000 people were left homeless¹.
In response to this disaster, Goodlife Foundation, a relief charity organization, is working tirelessly to assist the displaced families. They urgently need donations in cash or kind, including food, water, medical supplies, and sanitary pads.
Your support can make a significant difference in helping those affected by this tragedy.

Dear Friends, Supporters, and Champions of Goodlife Foundation,
I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits.
My name is Danny Govender, and I have the honour of serving as the Founding Member and Chairman of Goodlife Foundation. For over 45 years, our organisation has been a beacon of hope, compassion and positive change in the lives of countless individuals and families.
Before the pandemic swept across the globe, we stood united in our mission to alleviate hunger, provide education, and empower communities. Our tireless efforts allowed us to feed thousands of disadvantaged families, with special focus on school-going children. The smiles on their faces, the gratitude in their eyes—it fuelled our determination to make a difference.
However, as we all know, the world changed dramatically. COVID-19 disrupted lives, economies and the very fabric of our society. Many of our generous sponsors and donors faced unprecedented challenges, leading to closures and financial strain. The lifelines that sustained us suddenly frayed, and we found ourselves at crossroads.
But here’s the remarkable part: adversity has a way of revealing our true strength. It forces us to adapt, innovate, and rise above the obstacles.
Today, I stand before you with renewed hope and a bold vision. Goodlife Foundation is not merely a memory of better days; it is a phoenix ready to soar once more.
Our New Approach: A Symphony of Hearts
Together with a team of dedicated Fundraising Volunteers, we are charting a new course—one that combines passion, resilience, and unwavering commitment.

With gratitude and determination
